There are moments that last only an instant, yet tell the story of an entire life.
These photographs speak of faces, gestures and expressions encountered along the way, fragments of everyday life captured as they naturally unfold. They are different stories, brought together by an invisible thread: “the humanity revealed in a smile, a glance, a gesture made almost unconsciously”.
The baker absorbed in his work, the elderly woman busy mending, the luthier bringing his new guitar to life, the shepherd with his flock.
A child smiling, a woman lost in thought, her eyes filled with hope.
Every face holds an emotion; every moment offers a glimpse of something genuine, often invisible to the distracted eye.
These are not simply photographs, but encounters. Moments in which time seems to stand still and reality, free from artifice or posing, is allowed to tell its own story.
It does not matter who these people are, where they come from or what their stories may be: in each of them, we can recognise a fragment of ourselves.
“Portraits” seeks to offer a glimpse of life, of its small yet profound truths, of the beauty of simple things and of the intensity of the emotions that make us human.
Because sometimes, a single glance is all it takes to tell what a thousand words could never express.
